The weakness of community level tuberculosis (TB) services is a major concern for TB health promotion in Indonesia. These weaknesses are associated with a low level of awareness and knowledge and a high level of TB stigma in the community subsequently causing a low TB case detection rate (CDR). This book presents the role that community health literacy an important part in increasing the number of tuberculosis (TB) case findings, case holdings, and success rate by supervising and mentoring the cadres and community leaders. It shows how TB case detection rate improved through an understanding of the community literacy of health and the engage of community empowerment. This book is primarily addressed to health programmer, TB programmer, public health researchers, stake holders, who play a very important role in the control of TB or other diseases in the community. There are best practices how to expand community-based models to achieve universal access to TB testing and treatment. An understanding of community health literacy, as one of the basic factors that influence mobilizing and empowering the community to prevent, detect, and treat TB, MDR-TB, and TB-HIV.
